Alaska Coastal Safety

Alaska Coastal Safety offers small group and custom courses in Wilderness Medicine, First Aid, CPR, EMS, and risk management training & consulting year round. Seasonally we focus on offering Winter & Avalanche Safety Training, and Paddle Sports training progressions for entry level paddlers through Guide Training & Certification. We meet the needs of: healthcare professionals, guides, outdoor program staff, natural resource agencies, search and rescue groups, EMS, maritime industry, as well as the general public that work and play outdoors. We also develop custom alaskan adventure programs for small and large groups offering experiential learning in: field based natural history, team building, paddlesports, expedition safety, & trip planning. We offer private coaching and trip planning consulting for avid paddlers, multi-sport adventurers, laid back travelers, and endurance athletes planning trips and objectives in Alaska. We also love to play host to our favorite local paddling and outdoor destinations through our Local Knowledge EdVenture program.

Ascending Path

Ascending Path has been guiding worldwide since 1995. Matt founded the business after receiving a degree in Philosophy. He guided rock and ice climbing clients on the East Coast and expeditions to South America, Denali and the Himalayas. After meeting Heather on Denali, he decided to relocate full time to Alaska to persue their kismet. In between working international expeditions to Peru and the Himalayas and several seasons of science support and search and rescue for the US Antarctic Program, they opened Ascending Path for summer day trips in Girdwood in 2003.

With AGC you hire the guide directly and have a personal connection with your guide from start to finish.

 

Chugach Powder Guides

Chugach Powder Guides was founded in 1997 in the heart of the Western Chugach mountain range. Since then, CPG has opened up the finest backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the world, flying guests into terrain suitable for all skill levels. We have cataloged hundreds of new runs and tens of thousands of landings between the interior Chugach, Seward area, and Tordrillo mountains.

Remarkable Adventures

Remarkable Adventures LLC is based out of Girdwood, Alaska. Owner Nick D'Alessio offers professionally guided day trips and multi-day remote expeditions, backcountry ski touring and snowboarding, ski mountaineering, avalanche education, heli-skiing and cat skiing. As well as instruction and mentoring for novices through advanced avalanche training and guide training for individuals or organizations. Trips are offered on a custom, private basis. Nick is a Certified Ski Guide by the American Mountain Guides Association, one of the only guides living and working in Alaska to achieve this qualification.

Alaska Avalanche School

The Alaska Avalanche School has been in existence since 1976, when it was founded by Doug Fesler as an avalanche safety center under the State of Alaska. Later, the school became known as the Alaska Mountain Safety Center, where Doug, along with Jill Fredston, began teaching avalanche safety courses. The Alaska Avalanche School has grown steadily in the four decades since its inception, and now a staff of 25 professional instructors reaches hundreds of students, both in the field and in the classroom, each winter season.
